Most of the people have slow computer, many people complain that when they have purchased their pc it was working fine but now it got slow. - Remove software that you don't need: Check the no of software installed on your computer and also check if the installed software is of your use or not. Installing many softwares slow down your pc as it uses the RAM and space in the hard disk. Removing the software that you don't need will free up space and boost the speed of your computer. Also remove the trial version software, whose trial period has been over and you don't need it anymore.
- Disable the start up programs: When we start our computer it also starts some of the programs in the background, which slows down the start up of computer. Disabling the start up programs that don't need all the time you can make your computer start and work faster. In Windows to manage the start up program open run and type msconfig and hit enter then go to the start up tab. In Windows 8/8.1 you can manage the start up programs from task manager.
- Keep your PC virus free: In 70% of the cases PC gets slow due to the virus infections. In order to keep your PC safe from viruses you must install a good antivirus. There are several antiviruses are available in the market, you can either choose you want freeware or a licensed antivirus. The licensed antivirus works better than the freeware, but the point is you must have an antivirus installed and always keep it updated for maximum protection.
- Free up disk spaces: If you are running low on disk space then you must consider on freeing the space by deleting the files or moving it to another storage. Windows actually requires the disk space for storing the files.
- Keep your Operating System updated: No matter what operating system you are using keeping your operating system will increase the performance and security of your PC. Always turn on automatic updates if you want the best performance of your device, having automatic updates on will also protect you from getting hacked. And remember always use licensed version of windows to avoid any system conflicts.
- Optimize your Hard Disk: Optimizing hard disk means Defragmenting your hard disk regularly (once a week) will not only speed up the performance of you hard disk but it will also free up some spaces. Defragmention actually organizes the data stores in the hard disk, which makes it easy for the Windows to access the data.
- Remove the junk files: Junk files are the files that a program left behind that you used or using or removed. These are the temporary files that that is only essential till the execution of the program. These files take more and more of your space and makes your computer slower and vulnerable, you must get rid of those junk files to make your system safe and fast. To clean the junk files I advise you to use CCleaner.
- Use licensed software: Using licensed software not only increase the security of the data but it will also keep your system healthy. Licensed software are optimized by the vendors for the better performance and reliability. On the other hand cracked version of the same software may harm your computer and can also compromise your data. Purchase software from reputed vendors only.
- Increase RAM: If your computer is having low RAM then you must increase the RAM of your computer to increase the performance of your computer. RAM plays a very big role in enhancing the speed of computer.
- Upgrade your processor: If you are using a old processor then you must think on upgrading your processor for the better performance of your computer. Modern processors are fast and power efficient, and cheap also.
